About

Marvin Miller Jr. is a locally and nationally experienced drummer, known for his versatility behind the set. Since the age of seven, he has honed his craft in a wide spectrum of music and is often hailed for his precision in the pocket.

Marvin was raised and rooted in the sounds of pure funk through his bass player father, while simultaneously being influenced by the sound of gospel through his mother, who sang with several community choirs. This eclectic upbringing schooled him in a blend of music from artists like Earth, Wind, & Fire and Larry Graham, to the Hawkins Family and Milton Brunson. Today he combines his background with his ear and skill to produce a unique and crisp performance every time he touches a pair of sticks.

Throughout his career, Marvin has played a little of almost every style of music. Most recently, he has been keeping it cool and classic with tribute bands Motown and More and In Gratitude: A Tribute to Earth, Wind, & Fire, as well as pumping out today’s hits with K Street Union. He has also shared the stage with notable artists like Art Sherrod Jr, Shang, Chelsey Green & The Green Project, LCB, Eddie Baccus Jr, The Craig Alston Syndicate, Paul Taylor, Althea Renee, CeCe Penniston, and Michael Henderson. Driven by his love of sharing music with the world, Marvin continues to put his full effort into every performance. When he isn’t working, he can be found keeping time with his loving wife and three children.
